Great Outfits Of Seasons Past

Maybe I'm alone on this one, but Winter has definitely got me feeling like I'm in some kind of funk in more than a few ways. The weather is so blah, it's cold, I have to try and work the few long sleeved shirts I have into my wardrobe without wearing the same things every day. It gets dark so easily, I'm always tired, I wake up exhausted even. This seemed to flow more smoothly when the cold weather is away.

One great way to feel not so "blah" with the winter blues is to get yourself thinking positive! When I start feeling down about myself, I remind myself how awesome I am. A good example I use for myself is some of the awesome outfits I've worn. It's true that if you love what you wear you'll love how you look.

This calls for an excuse to show off a few great outfits I've worn and loved over the past year(s). I'll start it off with a picture that should be been included in my last post!

My strawberry print dress. The picture is terrible quality from my cellphone in the worst bathroom lighting I've ever seen! It doesn't do it justice. You can barely see the strawberry's and you can't make out the polka dots. However you get the idea of how great it is, and really a strawberry print is enough to make anybody feel great, am I right?

This one's from July 2010, a month after I finally graduate high school (that extra year for two credits was a long one!). I had just re-cut my hair short again after it finally reaching shoulder length and dyed it purple. Complete with a cut-off t, some floral and more black I loved it, but not as much as I loved this jellyfish exhibit that was currently in the local art gallery!

Patterns + patterns don't always have to be kept apart. I don't think I even left home this day but this outfit was comfy, and fun. That spring I tried so hard to gain some improvements in hula-hooping; it didn't quite happen. I'm lucky to keep it up for 30 seconds! It's all good fun though.

This outfit releases my inner hippy! I love the combination of the long suede-type skirt and the thick knit green shirt, they both go great with the purse as well. Mixing different textures in outfits gives me a happy feeling, I feel it makes a simple outfit look like it has an extra somethin' somethin'.

These two articles of clothing are some of my favorite things I've ever found while thrifting. I wear the polka-dot skirt so often. It's a high waist skirt and fits perfectly, it was a dream come true finding it. The shirt just makes me so happy to look at, the colors, the designs it's such a happy looking shirt.

Another outfit with the previously mentioned polka-dot skirt! Paired with one of my favorite shirts (I upcyled an old Darth Vader shirt of  mine for a more unique look for a Star Wars shirt), paired with a sparkling gray pair of knee-highs and red Chucks it's just great!

Purple ruffled skirt paired with my blue crinoline, legwarmers and my favorite three dollar thrifted flats! I liked the somewhat matchy/matchy look to it and it made me feel really whimsical!

This is the craziest dress/shirt I've ever owned. I wore it on top of a romper so i didn't end up mooning anybody that night. I've only worn it the once, and it really needs to be seen more, maybe with black tights?

Because of the distance you can't tell the dress is actually polka-dotted with white and pink dots! I had also added a few studs but since they have fallen off. This dress must have had a lot of wear into it before I purchased it at Value Village because it's so thin. Nothing a thin pair of black leggings can't fix though!

I was feeling a Halloween mood, I believe this was in August! I had recently bought a black velvet dress and happened to also find this cat print shirt, still packaged pantyhose and the shoes all in the same thrifting trip!

I have this really comfy 3/4 length sleeved dress, but the thing is it's a little plane when worn alone. Thankfully I have this cute white tank that I usually just keep as beach wear and it works quite nicely. Rock on!

My beloved jacket! I upcyled my Sparks shirt and an old Hello Kitty pajama top to brighten up my over-sized camo jacket. I can't seem to find a picture but down the front of the coat I sewed on a few of the badges I received in Sparks and Brownies, as well as some fun pins and a charming cat badge!

Last but not least is this dress that I bought to wear on Dan's birthday this past December! I felt like an elf princess and it was lovely!

  1. Hello Kitty and camo... I wouldn't think to do that but I really love the result!
