Book, tea, & pizza

Here's hoping everyone is having a good day because I must say that I am!

I have today, tomorrow and the next day off of work, so I am enjoying my little mid-week vacation before Friday comes back. 

Today I went for a little walk, bought myself another Chuck Palahniuk book to add to my collection. Picked up a used hardcover copy of Snuff. I'm really looking forward to starting it.

Also grabbed a cup of Mamma Mia from DAVIDsTEA. It is so delicious. It's like the summer cousin of Sleigh Ride, which I recently purchased 100g of to keep at home for the Winter months. (If there's one thing in life that is most awesome, it's pink tea!)

Lately I also started watching Glee. Which I'm sort of disappointed in myself for but also kicking myself for not watching it earlier. It's quickly become a guilty pleasure of mine as I'm closing in of the end of the first season.

Now tonight I'm planning on ordering-in some pizza for Dan and I to enjoy while we catch up on Adventure Time. Which I'm really looking forward to, to say the least. Although I did have a slice of pizza this past Tuesday at the Summerside Storm basketball game, nothing beats a fresh, hot, cheese pizza! Mmm, pizza...

Winter Wonderland

Last week included fairly warm temperatures and quite a bit of rain, which washed away all the snow that had fallen. 

This morning I woke up to find a lovely dusting of white over everything.

I suppose it's only right for there to be snow on the ground the day after we decorated our Christmas tree.

It is a great excuse to wear my new boots and comfy winter tights though!

Fashion Rut

What a month it has been.

Mid/Late October I started a new job after my long and painful nine-month job-hunt and unemployed lifestyle. I've been lucky enough to be getting a decent amount of shifts at work and so far I've passed by two paydays which I must say I am glad to be seeing again.

However with working so much it means I'm stuck in a uniform that makes a potato sack look flattering! It doesn't help that when I look in my closet or dresser I am unhappy with all the clothes I see. Most of them seem so young, and since I'm constantly told I look 16-17 maybe it's time to switch up my look? If only that were easier to do than it is to say...

Does anybody want to give me some tips on giving my wardrobe a make-over? I want to get rid of a good 70% of the things I own, but I'm afraid of having so little options (although are they really options if I know I won't wear them and they are only there to make it appear as that I have a big clothing collection?)

I know I've been been blanking on blog post ideas but I'm feeling a bit more inspired and hopefully that feeling sticks around.

Santa's Secret

Buying a tin of Santa's Secret from DAVID'sTEA was the smartest idea I've had yet. There's nothing like a hot drink that tastes like the holidays (the extra peppermint twist and caffeine don't hurt either). I've only had four cups out of the 100g bag I have in my tin (it's hardly made a dent in the amount in there) and it's already paid itself off. I definitely need to purchase a few more flavors for at home, a great investment for someone who loves as much as tea I do, a great money saver too in the long run!

Friday Night Dress Up

Halloween is probably my favorite time of the year. My whole life I have loved getting dressed up and always had a collection of dress-up clothes and costumes. It's just so fun! Not to forget how much I love pumpkins and the color orange as well!

This past Friday I accompanied my boyfriend to a costume/going-away party for some friends of his that are moving to Toronto. It was pretty cool to have a reason to dress up (even if I usually dress up regardless), and a bit different since I'm not really a party person and meeting new people is not my strong suit sadly. It was a good night though!

Dan had the great idea of dressing up as Hunter S. Thompson for Halloween which worked out really well, and I went as a green fairy. (I also have a really awesome pink fairy costume if I am lucky enough to not be scheduled to work all night on Wednesday.)
