Bright Blues

Today I decided to wear some eye make-up to make me try and forget the fact that I have a cold. (I only wish I still had contacts, my glasses hide my eyes.) I'm still trying to get the hang of the whole liquid liner thing, but it's up to my standards (which aren't high when it comes to personal make-up applying skills).

Also I decided to wear a shirt that I absolutely love that I've only worn once or twice since buying it during the summer. The shirt goes great with an awesome sweater I got for Christmas, but I didn't take a full shot showing it, oh well!

Oh, and it seems that I lose every hair elastic I bring over here (I suspect Loki finds them) but luckily I had a ribbon in my bag so I could wear my hair up!

Enjoy your weekend :)

Things I Love Thursday

Thursday yet again, so let's get this love-fest started!

This 4.5 minute video of how to wear a scarf 25 different ways!

These leggings! I want more leggings in my life! Why do all the best ones have to be expensive custom-made ones though?

I love the idea of bow necklaces like these, they are cute and seem like they'd be an easy way to add some life to an outfit. I love the red/white stripes, even if it is a little Christmasy!

This "'Fraidy Cats" print is too cute. I'm a sucker for anything with a cat on it!

I really want to order these riot grrl necklaces for my bff and I. Of course she would have the riot necklace!

I'm currently waiting for a few dollars to transfer from my bank account to my PayPal account so I can buy some new patches to add to some clothing and probably some zines. These patches are so neat!

On the topic of patches, here is one I love love love so much that I've already decided that at the beginning of next week when my money is transferred over that this is going to be the first thing I order. I mean, it's Ryan Gosling. Who wouldn't want a patch of Ryan Gosling sewed onto their clothing? In case you can't tell, I've got a bit of a crush on the man.

A yellow octopus flask, how awesome is this? If yellow isn't your thing don't fret! This cute (and not overly expensive!) flask is available in a few different colors.

What do you think of bunny ear rings? At a first glance I thought it would be annoying to have those two little ears sticking up, but the more I looked at them the more I thought "hey, I'd like to have one!"

From a young age I always had an interest in dark and creepy things. When I was eight I found a book in my school library that was about vampires and the like, it shared the real life story of Elizabeth Bathory. Ever since I was fascinated. I recently watched the film The Countess on Netflix that is about her story, check it out if you aren't afraid of some slightly uneasy scenes.

How great is this Wednesday Addams necklace? Wait you don't need to tell me, I know how great it is! If only, if only...

A cemetery plot ring. Somewhat creepy, kind of morbid but oh my goodness it is lovely!

I love this skirt! It's listed as a "rainy day tutu" and I think that seems very fitting. It just has such a whimsical look to it, I could only imagine what type of shirt would be fitting with this...

Do I even need words for this? A lovely red kitten print dress. It's as if it was taken out of my dreams! So cute, so lovely, so much want for this! What a perfect picnic dress, or really I think if I owned this I would never take it off.

I love cows. I live in a rural area and a few houses down they have some cows, it's so exciting in the spring to see all the little ones. They are so cute and peaceful, how could you not love them?

Creamy orange velvet cat bed, how adorable! I love the kind of retro feel to it with the color, reminds me of home decor in the 70s.

I've decided when spring hits I want to add more bright colors and patterns such as this into my every day wear!

Look at these, pink leggings, rain clouds, rain drops, your legs would always be the center of attention with these!

Last of all for this week's TILT is this great orange chair!

Great Outfits Of Seasons Past

Maybe I'm alone on this one, but Winter has definitely got me feeling like I'm in some kind of funk in more than a few ways. The weather is so blah, it's cold, I have to try and work the few long sleeved shirts I have into my wardrobe without wearing the same things every day. It gets dark so easily, I'm always tired, I wake up exhausted even. This seemed to flow more smoothly when the cold weather is away.

One great way to feel not so "blah" with the winter blues is to get yourself thinking positive! When I start feeling down about myself, I remind myself how awesome I am. A good example I use for myself is some of the awesome outfits I've worn. It's true that if you love what you wear you'll love how you look.

This calls for an excuse to show off a few great outfits I've worn and loved over the past year(s). I'll start it off with a picture that should be been included in my last post!

My strawberry print dress. The picture is terrible quality from my cellphone in the worst bathroom lighting I've ever seen! It doesn't do it justice. You can barely see the strawberry's and you can't make out the polka dots. However you get the idea of how great it is, and really a strawberry print is enough to make anybody feel great, am I right?

This one's from July 2010, a month after I finally graduate high school (that extra year for two credits was a long one!). I had just re-cut my hair short again after it finally reaching shoulder length and dyed it purple. Complete with a cut-off t, some floral and more black I loved it, but not as much as I loved this jellyfish exhibit that was currently in the local art gallery!

Patterns + patterns don't always have to be kept apart. I don't think I even left home this day but this outfit was comfy, and fun. That spring I tried so hard to gain some improvements in hula-hooping; it didn't quite happen. I'm lucky to keep it up for 30 seconds! It's all good fun though.

This outfit releases my inner hippy! I love the combination of the long suede-type skirt and the thick knit green shirt, they both go great with the purse as well. Mixing different textures in outfits gives me a happy feeling, I feel it makes a simple outfit look like it has an extra somethin' somethin'.

These two articles of clothing are some of my favorite things I've ever found while thrifting. I wear the polka-dot skirt so often. It's a high waist skirt and fits perfectly, it was a dream come true finding it. The shirt just makes me so happy to look at, the colors, the designs it's such a happy looking shirt.

Another outfit with the previously mentioned polka-dot skirt! Paired with one of my favorite shirts (I upcyled an old Darth Vader shirt of  mine for a more unique look for a Star Wars shirt), paired with a sparkling gray pair of knee-highs and red Chucks it's just great!

Purple ruffled skirt paired with my blue crinoline, legwarmers and my favorite three dollar thrifted flats! I liked the somewhat matchy/matchy look to it and it made me feel really whimsical!

This is the craziest dress/shirt I've ever owned. I wore it on top of a romper so i didn't end up mooning anybody that night. I've only worn it the once, and it really needs to be seen more, maybe with black tights?

Because of the distance you can't tell the dress is actually polka-dotted with white and pink dots! I had also added a few studs but since they have fallen off. This dress must have had a lot of wear into it before I purchased it at Value Village because it's so thin. Nothing a thin pair of black leggings can't fix though!

I was feeling a Halloween mood, I believe this was in August! I had recently bought a black velvet dress and happened to also find this cat print shirt, still packaged pantyhose and the shoes all in the same thrifting trip!

I have this really comfy 3/4 length sleeved dress, but the thing is it's a little plane when worn alone. Thankfully I have this cute white tank that I usually just keep as beach wear and it works quite nicely. Rock on!

My beloved jacket! I upcyled my Sparks shirt and an old Hello Kitty pajama top to brighten up my over-sized camo jacket. I can't seem to find a picture but down the front of the coat I sewed on a few of the badges I received in Sparks and Brownies, as well as some fun pins and a charming cat badge!

Last but not least is this dress that I bought to wear on Dan's birthday this past December! I felt like an elf princess and it was lovely!

I'll Be Seeing You

I cannot wait for Spring. Not that our Winter has been bad, it's actually be pretty tame for a Canadian Winter out here on the east coast. We've only experienced a few snowfalls, in which the snow is mostly melted all away within a week. Nothing to complain about there, less snow is perfectly fine with me!

You see, the reason I'm looking forward to the warmer weather is all because of one thing, a dress. This past fall I was shopping at my local Value Village and I bought this great little dress. It is a cream color with a strawberry print all over it! It fits great and it's just so lovely! However, it doesn't quite seem like a "winter" dress. It kind of just screams warm weather and makes me think of running through a field picking flowers, or attending a fancy picnic. Time and time again I look at it in my closet and try to rack my brain for ways to "winterize" it. Maybe pair it with the right scarf, or cardigan? No, none of those seem right. It looks like I'll just have to wait a few more months.

Do you have any special article of clothing you can't wait to break out once the warm weather hits back?

Favorite Pictures: Christina Ricci

I've noticed a few times I'll end up doing a "favorite pictures of [insert celebrity]" and here I am yet again with another such post. This past month I can't count the amount of movies I've watched that have had Christina Ricci play some sore of role in it, okay I think it's only been about five or six but enough for me to think she deserves her own blog post. Enjoy.
